I have personally gained a vast amount of knowledge in regard to teaching english as a foreign language to students. In addition to the obvious teaching styles, lesson plans, and grammar topics, I have learned how to interact with students who cannot understand english well. The tefl course has taught me about the many challenges I may face in the future and numerous ways to promote a fun and exciting teaching atmosphere.
I plan on, regardless of the age, keeping my students active and involved in the lessons. In addition I hope to use all of the materials given to me to further involve my students. Using the skills from the course I plan on testing the students to monitor their progress. It is also important to keep a flexible mind set so incase a student or students fall behind my lesson plans can be modified to assist them further.
