Ahhh where to begin? This course has opened my eyes to a lot. Firstly and most importantly it has taught me how to plan lessons. I remember in my travels I was thrown into teaching an english lesson when I told the school I had no previous training. Only that my mother tong was english. The lesson was horrible!!! There was no structure. The students learnt nothing. Now I feel completely prepared to walk into a class room with a good plan and I know they students are going to gain from it. I feel that I could plan not only a lesson in english but I'm confident to teach anybody anything I know. I also learnt a lot about teaching in general, a little about psychology of students and how to get through to them. I have gained so much of the structure of the english language. It was actually quite sad to see how much I didn't know and had never even thought about when I have been speaking english my whole life! In fact I have already been putting what I have learnt into practice. I have been doing practice classes for my friends in Colombia. Now I plan to look for a job in Bogota!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!! I plan to put a lot of my time into planning my lessons thoroughly and making them as fun as possible. I know I will continue to learn as a teacher throughout my whole career. Bettering my classes and my strategies. I look forward to my first real class and every one that follows it.
