I am a native english speaker and there was quite a bit of material in this course I learned that I was never taught. It is pretty amazing when you take something for granted like language that you just grew up knowing and then learning how it is structured, how to break down sentences and grammar as well as explaining the ever popular "WHY" to students.
My original intent was to use this certification to teach english in china but now that I am enrolled in college again here in the united states to earn an elementary education teaching credential, I can use the training from both certifications to increase the demand for me should I choose to teach abroad after all. Even though I am not planning on teaching english in the next two years at least, this course helped me learn about the english language and might make it easier for me to continue my learning of spanish as a second language for myself as well as being able to identify easier with other people that speak english as their second language.
