This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
(1) I gained a lot of knowledge of english grammar, such as parts of speech, verb tenses and conditionals. My previous esl teaching experience in Taiwan had been difficult at times, because I didn't have a good understanding of the grammar points. (2) I learned useful ways to approach teaching new language concepts. I think the ESA method is well-structured and easy to follow, and will be a very useful tool to use to produce an effective lesson plan. (3) I learned a lot of different games and activities that can be used to keep students motivated and engaged in the classroom. (4) I have lists of valuable resources, including grammar books, online esl sources, etc. I hope to apply all of what I've learned in the course to an esl job opportunity overseas, likely in Asia. I feel that I will be much more prepared for this teaching position having taken this tesol course.
