I'm not a native english speaker. Even though it's the forth language for me to learn, I've been using it on everyday basis for the last 16 years, including postsecondary education. It's been a long and steep learning curve for me, and in the process I managed to get mixed up and be less careful with english grammar. In this course I've learn not only teaching techniques, but also freshened up my grammar, vocabulary and writing skills. Watching the videos was very beneficial and will be very useful in the future. The course itself makes one think about teaching and practice writing lesson plans. esl teaching is somewhat different, however skills and techniques learned in this course can easily be brought to a regular classroom.
Being from Europe, my husband and I want to return there as soon as next year. I would prefer to leave my current occupation, and concentrate only on running immigration business (I'm a Regulated canadian Immigration Consultant) and teaching english.
Overall, I feel that the course is well structured and it covers many areas necessary to enter a classroom with confidence and begin teaching right away.
