This course has allowed me a detailed reexamination of the mechanics behind the
english language, which I had either forgotten, or never had the means to explain, and a firm foundation on how to properly teach
english to foreign learners. The information I have received regarding different learning groups, ages, and demographics has proved invaluable in reaffirming much of my preconceived ideas about how to approach different groups of learners. Through out this course, I have encountered various techniques that will aid my future endeavors through out the world, but most importantly, this course has reminded of what is key in any field – mindfulness. One must be extremely mindful of his or her students in order to be an effective
teacher. That, and lesson plans; lesson plans are necessary, by far. My plans to put these concepts into motion will be tricky, as I have absolutely zero experience teaching a class room, but I plan to try my best, and use this course work as a
guide in approaching my future students, and I shall do so as carefully, calculated, and charismatic as possible. Where this will happen, that is unknown. I suppose I am going to have to research a handful of locations, and assemble a dart board of sorts, but one thing is for certain: as much information I can pass on to my students, I expect to receive tenfold. This will be an opportunity to immerse myself in a completely foreign culture, and I plan to do it to the fullest.
