This course has really opened my eyes to the different ways a teacher can help students absorb information. I feel like I have gained a lot of knowledge on how to make a course fun, yet challenging and informative. After taking this course, I feel confident that I can organize a class and even a course from scratch with my own ideas and access to various other materials. I also feel like I can make a course exciting and give life to it which is beneficial for both the students and the teacher. Though I cannot guarantee that students will look forward to my english class, I do believe they won't find it boring and hopefully they won't be terrified to enter, like I always was when I took a language course. Also helpful has been the material that explains how to maintain classroom control. There are so many mistakes that a teacher can make and seemingly little tidbits, like using a students name at the end of a question sentence to keep all the students on their toes, can go a long way in maintaining student focus. That being said, I think I mentioned at the beginning of the course that I would really like to offer courses to individuals or groups via Skype or FaceTime. Though a lot of the group ideas cannot easily be adapted to the internet, there are those that can (especially if I have a small group) and this course has given me confidence to do that. I feel like teaching over the internet will be much easier now, with this new knowledge of the kind of things I need to do to appear organized and professional when in contact with students over Skype or FaceTime. There is no doubt that I will use the information I have gained in this invaluable course and I will be referring back to the course materials frequently to remind myself of all I have learned.
