By following this course I've learned (reviewed) a lot of the english grammar. I can speak english but when I'm teaching I need to know more information about the grammar, how to use all the tenses, to explain aux. verbs, passive voice etc. Before this course I wasn't so sure and tried to avoid it a little bit. (what was possible because I taught oral english). But for me, a teacher need to know all the aspects of english language.
By following this course I feel more secure, I understand/ learned the grammar parts and know that when a student is asking a grammar question I can answer and explain it.
I also liked the unit about teaching receptive skills reading and listening and productive skills speaking and writing and the unit teaching pronunciation and phonology very much. It explained all the important parts of english lessons. When you teach english you have to include them in your lessons. Before this course I knew that they were important but how to put them into lessons I didn't know that well. Now I've got more “background” information and I'm sure I can put it into my teaching.
So my conclusion will be, I've learned the most about the specific topics you need to know and use as an english teacher. All the other topics were interesting and for me more like a review (of course there were also some things I didn't know and will use know.)
The way to put this in my lessons, depends a little bit of the kind of job I will have.
But for sure I will use all the units as a resource and when I need to make a syllabus, I will check and make sure that all the important skills, grammar etc. will be in it.
I also will use the unit when I'm teaching curtain subjects. I'll use the example activities, games, kind of worksheets and tasks.
