Although I do already have some teaching experience, taking this course has helped me understand what I have to do to be a better teacher. I now have a more profound understanding of how to efficiently teach a class. I think that the grammar units were the most helpful and also the most useful. Even though I am a native speaker of english, I had forgotten many grammar rules. Studying them once again and doing exercises that enforced what I studied has made me much more confident in my knowledge of english grammar. Being more confident is a huge help in the classroom. Students, especially children, have a way of knowing when a teacher is intimidated. Once students know, they have all the control in a classroom instead of the teacher. Aside from the grammar units each unit was helpful in its own way. This course has taught me how to be more confident in general. I also know how to teach a variety of students and how to make sure each and every one is taking something home from the lesson. A sure thing that I will be putting into a action from this course are all of the lesson plans that I have done. I will also use them as an aid to creating a syllabus. Other things that I will be putting into action are all of the ideas and examples that were used in the units. How to physically act in the classroom is also important and is something else that I will be using in the classroom. All in all I am happy to have taken this course and found every bit of information helpful and useful.
