I wish I had taken a course like this before I went to teach english in Korea. Teaching in Korea was so difficult because I lacked a lot of the information I needed to be a good english teacher. I have learned how to write a lesson plan, which to me is pretty huge. I had no idea how to do that before. I also learned how to balance a lesson, in terms of how to make the lesson about learning but also incorporating fun games to make learning interesting. The actual english part is pretty huge as well. I don't ever recall going through so much english ever in my years of school. I feel like, even though teaching english is still intimidating, I am much more prepared.
Now that I am better prepared I can actually plan lessons so I have an outline of the things I want to cover. I feel like I would be able to control a classroom where before I felt lost trying to control a classroom.
