Unit 11 covers teaching receptive skills - reading and listening. It states that there are two reasons or motives for reading and listening: for a purpose or for entertainment. It goes on to list the different ways we read and listen. The unit also covers how to most effectively teach receptive skills. I learned that it is very important to choose topics that are of interest to the students in order to keep them engaged and motivated.
