Unit 14 was about the use of textbooks and other materials. Authentic materials are from real life sources. Created materials are made by the teacher to add to or replace in the course. Text books are especially useful because they can provide an already practiced lesson and plan. I personally like using textbooks for all the reasons that were provided in the reading. I would much rather supplement something with my own ideas than completely make it up from scratch.
