In this unit I learned about the advantages and disadvantages of using course books. I also learned that there are two different types of materials teachers can use to aid them during lessons. The first type of teaching material teachers can use are authentic materials. Authentic materials are great to use because they are materials taken from the real world which make them more interesting and sometimes more relevant than created materials. The other type of teaching material teachers can use are created materials. Created materials are great because they can be graded to the level of the learners and can also be designed to address mistakes that the teacher sees the learner's make.
