While the previous unit focused on how to run a classroom and the qualities of a good teacher and student, this unit focused on the basic content taught in the classroom. Having a firm grasp on grammar is essential to serving as a successful teacher. Without a strong and comprehensive knowledge of grammar it is impossible to effectively teach english, no matter how strong the teacher is in other areas. While I am familiar with english grammar, this unit provided a helpful summary of the key tenets of english grammar that are required to understand and teach english.
