In this unit, I learned about parts of speech. Every word in a sentence can be classified. The main classifications include nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, and prepositions/conjunctions. When starting this unit, I was most familiar with nouns, adjectives, verbs, and prepositions. I did not know what gerunds were and now I know that they are basically the -ing form of a verb but when used in a sentence, they are used as nouns. I also relearned the different types of pronouns and the differences between personal and reflexive, for example. Now I know the different parts of speech.
