In this unit, I brushed up on basic usage and functions of various pieces of simple English sentence structure. I learned more specific terminology for different types of categories of sentence structure, such as the difference between a transitive and intransitive verb and the purpose of a preposition or conjunction. By knowing the more accurate, and thus correct terminology, I feel more comfortable and prepared for teaching students the same basic sentence structure components.
