In this unit, I learnt about parts of speech including nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, prepositions and conjunctions. Besides of knowing this, I also learnt how to use them, when to use them, differences of each other and how to tell the diffident between them such as transitive verbs and intransitive verbs! This unit was helpful in clarifying the parts of speech, especially the more subtle or difficult that I take for granted as a native English speaker. It will be important to be able to call upon these definitions and explanations as I am teaching in the classroom. This section captures the basic structures of a sentence. The parts of speech were identified and elaborated on to get an understanding of the how to use them as well as their purpose within a sentence. I learned specific details about when to incorporate certain parts of speech in order to create more correctly structured sentence.
