This unit basically tells us that while the teacher is not expected to remember every rule and exceptions, the teacher should have basic understanding of the English grammar so the students don't lose confidence in the teacher. There are many exceptions and they need to be memorized by the student as sometimes there aren't rules for how they are used (or they are debated against by English scholars).
