There are 8 parts of speech: Nouns, pronouns, adjectives, articles, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions and interjections. Grammar is important for learning and a teacher is expected to be able to know not only the grammatical structure of a sentence but how to relate this information to students. Some points to note are: there are countable and uncountable nouns that affect the grammar of a sentence; articles are particularly complicated to relate to students that do not have articles in there own language; and games are a good way to get a student accustomed to positioning adverbs in a sentence.
