The Unit-2, helped me understand and learn the various parts of speech. The various parts of speech may be classified as noun, verb, adjective, adverb, preposition, pronoun, infinitive, gerund, articles and conjunction. Although I knew some of them, the parts of speech infinitive and gerund where completely new to me. I also came across the different categories under noun, verb, pronouns etc which I didn't know earlier. The various categories under noun such as countable and uncountable nouns, common noun, proper noun, compound noun and collective noun. The various categories in verb that I learnt are action verbs, state verbs, auxiliary verbs(helping verbs), regular and irregular verbs and the tenses. I came across a new category in adjectives such as the possessive adjectives, although I knew these words were adjectives but didn't know their classification. On the whole I was satisfied that I learnt a lot more grammar today.
