I learned proper terminology to explain parts of speech. There are a lot of complicated aspects of parts of speech including exceptions. English is hard so it is important to break down all of these concepts and be patient with students when introducing them to these concepts.It was helpful to review these concepts so that when a student asks a question or is confused I can provide a proper explanation for why a sentence or phrase is structured the way it is.
