In this unit, I learned one of the essential aspects of teaching grammar; the different parts of speech. For individuals with English as a native language, such grammatical concepts are subconscious while they speak, read, or write. When they need to teach these concepts to others, it becomes obvious how difficult the English language could be for individuals who were not exposed to English grammar from a young age. Because many words are irregular and the sound of words and its placement in the sentence dictates which part of speech it belongs to, it is essential for the teacher to confident about his/her grammar skills.
