This unit, although I initially thought would be a breeze, really challenged me. Thats not to say that I don't have a very solid knowledge of syntax and how it functions in conversation but recalling the idiosyncrasies of grammatical rules was not something I'd thought about in sometime. Furthermore, although it was quite mentally taxing at times, it was also thoroughly enjoyable as I love language and find its construction quite beautiful. I just wanted to note that I've studied multiple languages and really think that english, on a fundamental level in terms of its construction, seems to be one of the most difficult. I've studied french, spanish and am now learning mandarin. There are not nearly as many rules upon rules and exceptions to those rules as exist in the english language. On the whole, this unit has been a great refresher and a lot of stimulating fun.
