I learned that the English language would be quite complicated for ESL students. There are so many components to the parts of speech that are complicated and difficult to remember. Like nouns have common, proper, compound, abstract, and collective. And then they can be put into countable and uncountable nouns as well. Adjectives have a certain rule to the order from size, age, color, material, to noun. There are also comparisons for the adjectives that add er or est depending on syllables, consonance, and endings. Verbs have transitive, intransitive, and infinitives and also have four different forms. Adverbs have many types such as: manner, place, time, degree and ect. Verbs that end with ing that are used as nouns are called gerunds. A, an, the are called articles. Prepositions have different types such as: time, movement, place, and ect. And also that and, but, as, or are called conjunctions.
In conclusion, I didn?t realize that there were so many parts of speech. I only remembered the basics like noun, adjective, verbs, adverbs, and prepositions. I felt as if I wasn?t even taught about the others and I used the other parts as if I learned them although I didn?t know the Name.",
