This was a review of my grade school days. I had totally forgotten what gerunds, prepositions and infinitives were. I also realized the English language is, in fact, quite complicated and messy. There are so many times, the rules don't apply. Good, better, best is an example. The massive list of irregular verbs is another. Teaching English may seem tough but learning it for the first time would be a much more daunting task.
