Unit 2 is an introductory to grammar. The unit started from the assumption that the reader has zero level knowledge. The unit begins with simple sentences and the various parts of speech. The following grammar areas were reviewed throughout the unit: nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs gerunds, pronouns and ends with preposition/conjunction.
Certainly a review of grammar no matter what you teach is helpful. While the main parts of speech were familiar to me the specific parts of each area were not as familiar such as: countable and uncountable nouns, transitive and intransitive verbs, infinitives and auxiliary verbs. In regards to teaching in china, the unit points out that we do not have to be a "walking grammar book"" but the units warns that if we know nothing we will lose the respect of our students.
