The second unit is a review on the parts of speech, a basic subject matter in learning a language. Since language is made up of words, the learners must understand its basic units. They have to distinguish the functions of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions and conjunctions. Nouns are further categorized into different types such as common, proper, abstract,compound,or collective. They can be singular or plural. Verbs are either transitive or intransitive. Students must learn to use the different verb tenses as well. Pronouns, Prepositions, and Conjunctions are likewise of different types and use. This unit is very important.
