This unit taught me that I really do not know parts of speech as much as I thought I did. I was unaware that adverbs were so dynamic and not just words that end in -ly. For example, I wouldn't have thought of "twice"" as an adverb. I also learned about prepositions more in depth and I wasn't completely aware what a conjuction was until this unit. I also learned the difference between transitive and intransitive verbs and how they are used differently. Learning all the parts of speech made me realize how important it is as an ESL teacher to know grammar more in depth than what we know by just being native english speakers. I understand as well why it can be tricky to teach english and that there is a lot to consider grammar wise."
