Unit two broke down the different parts of speech. It breaks down the different elements of a sentence, their meanings and placement within a sentence. It provides sound examples that may be used in a class setting and clear instructions of how and when to use them.
It is very important to know parts of speech, but even more important to be able to relay this information to a student. English has many complicated rules, and often a lack thereof, that make learning English difficult.I learned some great, easy ways to explain this difficult topic to students that can help them build more accurate and complete sentences. I have a better understanding and better grasp on how to explain the different functions/uses for verbs (infinitives and gerunds). I also learned more accurately about prepositions and conjunctions and how to explain them.
