Through this unit, I've learned the different parts of speech. I always knew that the English language was so complex and that I have mastered the basics. But with lack of practice, I seemed to have forgotten all the complexity of the English language. I learned that there are many forms of nouns, verbs, and adjectives like transitive vs. intransitive verbs or countable vs. uncountable nouns. I didn't even know there were so many rules to using articles and specific adjectives. I also learned the properties of gerunds. I learned the proper way of using verbs and nouns. I can now confidently explain to a student of the specific parts of speech that make up a proper sentence.
