In this unit I had a great refresher as far as reviewing the major parts of speech, and what I most enjoyed was learning about the more specific parts of speech. This unit gave me a great reference to refer back to in the future. As well as defining the different parts of speech this unit gave very clear examples, which helps make those parts of speech be seen in a practical and realistic way.
Recognizing the nouns, verbs, etc is imperative, but it's even better to know how those can be broken down. Be able to define parts such as comparative comparisons, superlative comparisons, transitive verbs, and the other parts will help me in explaining to my students how they should be used. If a student incorrectly uses a transitive verb when they should have used a intransitive verb I'll now have the knowledge to be able to demonstrate why and how they are used differently.
