This section demonstrated, to me, how difficult the different parts of speech can be to learn. The English language can be very difficult to grasp, though if a student has a solid foundation of what the different parts of speech are and how to correctly use them, it will only make their learning experience more enjoyable. It is important to be able to recognize why each word is used in a sentence, and what the meaning is behind placing it in the certain position it is placed. In this unit, I learned what a gerund is; what the main types of prepositions are; and how to differentiate between a comparative and a superlative adjective.
