English can be pretty complicated when it comes to parts of speech. I can understand why so many ESL students think it's the most difficult language to learn.
I think once the basic forms of the nouns and verbs are understood, though, the rest begins to fall into place. A lot of the rules regarding verbs, adverbs, and adjectives are simply up to memorization when it comes to categorizing different words.
Of course, conjugation is something else, entirely.
