This chapter outlined the basic building blocks of grammar and the parts of speech. This was a little difficult for me because I do not normally think about the way that I speak since it is just natural to me. One thing I had never even heard of was gerunds, the -ing form of a verb used as a noun. Obviously I use them all of the time, I just never knew that it had a Name. I feel like I will have to refer back to this chapter occasionally but overall I feel very comfortable with the material.
