Ireland TEFL Jobs in Ireland

Teach and Travel in Ireland

Ireland is generally one of the harder places in Europe to find TESOL jobs unless you are already actually living in the country. This is particularly true for non EU passport holders. The majority of jobs available in Ireland can be found in the capital city, Dublin. There are several language schools in the city but the work is not always consistent and the high cost of living in Dublin means your salary may not be enough to cover your expenses. The cost of living in many areas outside of the capital is considerably lower; however, there are far fewer jobs available.

How to Find TEFL Jobs in Ireland

The best method for finding teaching jobs in Ireland is by searching the many TESOL related websites available online. You should also send out an up to date copy of your resume to any language schools that you can find in the areas where you would like to work. If you receive a positive response from any of the schools you will generally need to attend an interview in person.

As well as the usual English language schools, you will also find TESOL jobs on offer in universities and colleges around the country. Short term English language courses are often held during the summer months of June to September which also offer a good chance of employment. Teachers from within the EU do not need a work visa to apply for these jobs. For teachers from outside of the EU, Ireland does operate a Student Work Abroad Program which provides working visas for some applicants.
