Seating arrangement

One of the first tasks you can do to achieve managing your specific class is choosing which desk seating method to use in the classroom.

There are multiple ways to set up the desks for each specific class. The way I would set up my class test would be shoe horse shape this is because this is more intimate and the class I will be teaching is a small number of students.

Relationship with the teacher

Another big part of managing the students in the classroom setting is being able to make the students feel comfortable with you as a teacher. This is important because when students feel comfortable they can learn quicker and more apt to ask questions when they are feeling confused. Although it is important to make the students feel comfortable it is also important for a teacher to maintain rules and structure.

Maintaining discipline is important because this helps to keep control of the class and withholds from the students acting out And maintains a conducive to the learning environment for all students.

Eye contact is another vital thing to use in the classroom. Eye contact helps the students know they are being heard and validated. This also keeps the students engaged in the class because at any moment you could ask them a question about what they’re learning.

Gestures are also very important while engaging the class as English is not their native language body language and gesturing can assist in communicating the meaning of a word. Gesturing to the students also helps them because they know when you want them to start an activity stop an activity or to encourage ending a task.

Motivating students

Another way to maintain the class is to encourage contribution and open communication between students. By doing this you are engaging with the students and having the students engage with you. This will help them properly pronounce English words and get comfortable using the English language in proper sentences.
