Music plays an important role in our life. Music is also considered a form of international language. Everybody can enjoy and understand music. For children, the music brings back a lot of useful things. Therefore, songs are a great way for children to learn English. Singing, Playing, and Listening to music/songs every day is extremely important especially when you are teaching young learners. As we all know that repetition is the key to learning, so songs are the best way to help them learn English while having fun at the same time. Music helps children to remember things better and predictable, repetitive activities make them feel secure.

It will help motivate and engage the attention and interest of young students, who are often distracted or may get bored easily. Music can signal a transition from one activity to another. Students often get confused, and subsequently tune out, during transitions from one activity to another. Verbal directions alone can be difficult to understand, especially when a student was focusing on a different activity.

Using songs to signal changes helps students understand what is going on.

Try using different songs to signal when it is time to start class, time to clean up, time to make a circle, time to take out your coursebook, etc.

Young learners are energetic, therefore singing with gestures makes learning more fun and memorable.

Music helps children remember vocabulary easier. Using English songs will be an effective way to increase vocabulary and the ability to memorize the words quickly and easily the most. For example, when learning the song about parts of our body children can easily remember some words such as head, shoulders, knees, and toes. Music has rhythm, so children will be more interested in learning vocabulary. Movement songs will also help kids work on their gross motor skills and it is really good for daily activities.

Singing is an activity that children of all levels can enjoy equally.

Students with low levels of English will be able to follow a song along with actions and dances as they learn the language in the song. Students with more advanced English can also enjoy singing and dancing while improving their pronunciation, even if they already know all the words. Music can also serve as a powerful tool in teaching new vocabulary. Songs can also help to improve listening skills because they provide students with practice listening to different forms of intonation and rhythm. English has a stress-timed rhythm, for which songs can help to establish a feeling.

While listening to songs students hear the language used so that they can both imitate the pronunciation and also subconsciously acquire some of its sounds and patterns. During the process of listening to songs, students subconsciously acquire some of English sounds and patterns.

When it comes to singing, they imitate the pronunciation, learning to use rhythm and stress correctly. The task of learning the correct use of stress and rhythm becomes simpler because students are led by the rhythm of a song.
