The School

The Darwin training center is committed to delivering the best possible quality ELICOS and Academic English programmes to the growing international student population in Darwin. Established on campus for over 12 years, they work closely with the university to make sure international students can pursue their tertiary ambitions.

The Darwin teachers and senior management have experience working all around the world and are well-qualified with either a CELTA or a DELTA and will provide a useful resource as part of your observation of experienced teachers requirement.

Accommodation

CDU student accommodation can be made available to CELTA candidates, conveniently located, with self-catering facilities and a beautiful swimming pool to relax in after a hard day’s CELTA. A competitive weekly price of A$262.50 for 28-day stays. Darwin has a large student and backpacker population so there are lots of well-priced house-shares or room-lets available on Gumtree and the facebook group, Darwin Buy Sell Swap Wanted. There are also many short-stay options available through Air BNB.

Accomodation Fees

    Adults of various age and nationality do CELTA courses. Their English level is assessed at the application/interview stage. Non-native English speakers are accepted if their level of English is appropriate – equivalent to 7.5 IELTS in all skills.
    Adults of various nationalities attend the teaching practice classes for free.
