One of the most useful areas of this course for me has been the grammar units. I have teaching experience and I have studied pedagogy in the past, so have a decent understanding of how to make effective lessons. However, english grammar has never been a strong suit of mine. Learning the 12 verb tenses, for example, was very useful. Now, I know the tenses, their names and how and when to use them. I knew how and when to use them subconsciously, but now I’m able to describe and explain it to other people. This will greatly improve my ability to teach grammar and explain to do students why we must use a particular tense in a given context.
