This unit was about teaching pronunciation and phonology. It was one of the more difficult lessons. Teaching pronunciation is often neglected in the efl classroom and intonation sections seemed useful enough but I would feel quite insecure attempting to teach these subjects without these knowledge presented. The phonetic script would seem inappropriate if the course wasn't specifically about improving pronunciation.
