This unit has given me the knowledge of the many different parts of speech in the English language. While I'm not as comfortable as I want to be in regards to these different elements and my knowledge, this has certainly a good stepping stone. Information about pronouns and transitive vs. intransitive verbs may need more clarification. In going through this unit I found that there many different parts of speech that I had taken for granted because I am a native English speaker. I found that this unit really comes in handy especially if you are writing. It is important to have these skills to effectively communicate with others. Grammar in English is quite complicated. It is hard to know all grammar terms, even if you are a native speaker. But of course, if you are an English teacher you must know the correct terms for each part of speech, and be able to correct mistakes students make.
