There are three main things that I have gained through this course. First of all, a better understanding of class dynamics. This not only refers to how to deal with different students, different levels of english proficiency, different ages, or cultural backgrounds. It also, and mainly to me, refers to how to engage students, how to keep the class active and entertaining, how to activate students' learning ability, and motivation. I deeply appreciated all the tools and advices, because I got to know a lot more about training in general. A second element has been very important to me. It relates also to the first one, and completes it. I felt the exercise with lesson plans has always forced me to think about real-life situations, realistic ideas for training, always keeping the students in mind. Among the exercises presented along the course, this has been for me the most important one, I believe. Not necessarily because of being more challenging than others (sometimes grammar exercises were more), but because it put me in the training mode. Even though I wasn't in a class, I felt I was planning to be in one, and I would go the day after to do my first training, more confident, organized, and sure that I'd have had something to say and do, constructively, and with a clear project in mind. Finally, the grammar repertoire. As a non native english speaker, I've learned grammar long time ago. I enjoy grammar a lot. But, with use in my daily life, grammar has lost importance, and conversation has been more relevant, independent of correctness sometimes. I believe this is something that tends to happen to both mother-tongue and non-mother-tongue people. But it is true that, for me, going through grammar rules, verb tenses, etc., has been of a great value to recover some abandoned notions that I will surely need in class. And, that I also need and now apply with regained focus in my daily life. In conclusion, I am really happy I decided to take this course and also that I arrived till the end of it gaining so much.
