This may sound strange, but I am happy to have learned that the ing form of a verb in the present continuous is not a gerund, but rather, the present participle. I have been taught incorrectly and therefore for all these years have called the present participle a gerund! I have been teaching english for 12 years and I will be opening my own school next year, so I figured it would be best to get my official esl certificate. I have learned that having begun teaching 12 years ago thrown into a classroom with no training, that I have created my own methods that coincide almost exactly to the methodology in this course, which pleases me greatly. I have moments of doubting myself, but this course has shown me that I was on the right track. I have enjoyed the course.
