The content of this unit is the different parts of speech and how to identify them. Having taught elementary school for many years I was familiar with a lot of the material already. However, I did learn a quite a bit of new material which will help me greatly in improving my teaching of older students. I understand why many people say that "English is a hard language to learn."" There are so many different pieces that go into one sentence and some of the rules don't make sense. Some words don't even have rules This unit was an overview on parts of speech. The parts of speech in a sentence means that each word can be further classified according to its purpose and the meaning it adds. The unit gave a general summary on the different parts of speech and the grammar rules that go with them.
