This course has been very helpful to us in furthering our understanding of how english is learned and taught. We feel that we now have a greater insight into teaching methods, english grammar and pronunciation, classroom organization, and the mechanics of second language acquisition. Once we finish our course we plan on seeking employment as english teachers in Korea. One of the tools that we expect to find most helpful in our new career path is the ESA lesson planning format. This format helps us to ensure that we are building lessons that are informative, engaging, and motivating to our students. We feel that having this rubric to rely on will take some of the pressure off, since we will most likely feel somewhat "out to sea" during our first few months teaching in a new country. We plan on teaching in Korea for at least two years. After, which we will most likely return to the US to pursue other careers. However, we feel certain that our tefl training will be an asset to us, since we both plan on teaching in some capacity for the foreseeable future. We also plan on using our training to do volunteer work once we return to the united states. We live in an area that has a high population density of foreign language speakers, and we plan on using our newfound skills to better our community and welcome newcomers to the area.
