This unit covers a range of the basic parts of speech, including: nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, articles, gerunds, prepositions and conjunctions. Through the unit steps are provided on how to distinguish these parts of speech in a sentence, how to identify them and their rules. Many examples are also provided for these parts of speech, and how new learners of the English language might struggle with certain aspects of the learning process.
While I have a decent knowledge of grammar and the parts of speech, this chapter helped tremendously on refreshing my mind and relearning a lot of gets forgotten over the years. I often can properly use these parts of speech in my every day writing, but properly identifying them fades away when you are not refreshing your knowledge of the basics.
