This section highlighted many of the rules and various parts of speech. It was a nice review of the technical names of the parts of speech (such as gerunds) that I had long forgotten. Despite years of speaking and studying the English language, I could not help but become frustrated when I thought of trying to teach and explain proper grammar given the many exceptions that exist to each and every rule. As a result, I have a new found appreciation for the skill and tenacity needed by those who wish to study and/or teach english as a foreign language.
