This unit was a refresher of the basic foundations of the language. As a native speaker, it is easy to talk fluently without the conscious effort of forming sentences by parts in our heads. This reminds me of the difficulty foreign students may have. Re-learning the foundation of forming sentences allows me to think of ways the various parts of speech can be explained in simple terms. I was able to re-learn the exceptions to certain words when used in different forms, such as adjectives when used as superlatives. Through the unit exercises at the end, I was able to Name the article, the verb, the adjective and noun in a sentence and this puts me back in the mindset of a learner. This is definitely important when trying to clarify questions for students.
