In this unit we learned the basic rudiments of English grammar and the various parts of speech, including definite and indefinite articles, transitive and intransitive verbs and the correct placement of adjectives and adverbs. We also went over how to correctly use the aforementioned parts of speech correctly in English sentences, with both examples of correct usage and incorrect usage. This chapter served as a foundational introduction to the basic grammatical points that every teacher of English needs know Before stepping in front of a class filled with second language learners of English. It also provides a good jumping off point later in the course for further instruction on the subject.
