On the language front, I have learnt a great deal about how complicated the english language can be. As a native speaker it's easy to overlook the many problems others may have picking up english. This course has helped me revise that which I may have forgotten or never been taught.
Having never taught a full class before, I found the insights into controlling a class and learning about the ESA structure of lessons to be of particular interest. I can now be confident of my ability to go and help students in other countries.
My plan is to complete the on-site component of the course and see how things go from there. If I enjoy the area and the work then I will search for jobs there and then, in Asia preferably. Should this not be an option, I can take the lessons learnt and the experience gained forwards with me into a potential teaching career here in the UK.
